Operations consultancy in Sydney

Most of the warehousing in this city sits in a band from Eastern Creek and Erskine Park through Prestons, Moorebank and Ingleburn, and the operations in it share the same problems: sites laid out for a smaller business, rents that make space the most expensive thing on the P and L, and delivery windows set by customers in a different part of the city entirely.

What is different about operating in Sydney

  • Western Sydney rents make a storage review pay faster here than anywhere else in the country. Releasing a quarter of your floor is worth more in Eastern Creek than it is in Direk.
  • Traffic is a routing constraint, not a nuisance. A run planned on distance falls apart on the M4 at 7am, so route work here is built around windows and travel time rather than kilometres.
  • Port Botany and Sydney Airport pull a lot of operations into cartage and container work that was never designed for, which is where the cost to serve numbers usually hide.
  • Labour is tight across the south west industrial belt, so a restructure that assumes you can simply hire is not a plan.

Where we work from

Prestons in south west Sydney. Prestons to Eastern Creek, Smithfield, Ingleburn, Moorebank or Kurnell is inside an hour, so a day on site is a day on site rather than a day of travel. Newcastle and Wollongong are day trips.

Start without spending anything

The operations health check is twenty four questions across six areas, takes ten minutes, needs no email and gives you a score on the page. It will not diagnose the operation, but it will tell you which of the six areas to look at first, which is usually not the one you came in worried about.

After that, a twenty minute call at no charge, where you get told what we would check first and whether this is a small fix or a big one. If you do not need a consultant you will be told that too.

Questions

Do you come to our site in Sydney?

Yes. The full day operational review is on site, and scoped projects are run on site wherever the work needs it. Prestons to Eastern Creek, Smithfield, Ingleburn, Moorebank or Kurnell is inside an hour, so a day on site is a day on site rather than a day of travel. Newcastle and Wollongong are day trips.

What does a review cost in Sydney?

The same as anywhere: $7,500 plus GST for the full day review including the written report, and fixed price reviews from $5,900 plus GST. There is no travel loading inside the metro area.

Can we start without committing to a site visit?

Yes. The online health check takes ten minutes, costs nothing and needs no email. The $490 Operational Health Check Report is a desk based read if you want a consultant on it before anyone travels.

Do you work outside Sydney?

Yes, Australia wide and New Zealand. Regional and interstate work is quoted with travel shown as its own line rather than folded into the fee.

360 also supplies and collects pallets and runs palletised transport, so a finding about pallets or freight can be acted on rather than handed to someone else. Where that happens we disclose it in the report so you can compare us against the market.
