Operations consultancy / Pallet, waste, recovery and consumables review
Pallet, waste, recovery and consumables review
Pallets, waste and consumables are small lines that have quietly become a large number.
What does the work involve?
- Usage, cost and loss measured per unit rather than per invoice.
- Recovery options assessed: what can be sold, reused, repaired or diverted from landfill.
- How orders are fulfilled, because most pallet and packaging loss is a fulfilment design problem.
What do you get?
- Cost per unit and where it leaks.
- Recovery and reuse options with the value of each.
- A clear disclosure where 360 could also supply or recover, so you can compare us against the market.
Who does it suit?
Any operation shipping more than a few hundred pallets a month, or paying to dispose of material that has value.
Who is it not for?
A site moving fewer than a few hundred pallets a month; the pickup rule and the pallet prices pages answer that without a review.
How long does it take?
Two to three weeks; the pallet and waste figures are small per unit and the data is usually already on invoices.
What do we need from you?
Missing some of this is normal and is not a reason to wait. Send what exists and we will tell you what the work can and cannot conclude before anyone commits.
- Pallet, packaging and consumable purchases for twelve months.
- Waste and disposal invoices.
- How many pallets go out and how many come back, if anyone is counting.
What does it cost?
Scoped project. Often the fastest payback of anything on this list, because the costs are small per unit and large in total.
How does 360 work?
A consultant delivers the work and is accountable for the content. Findings come from the data you supply and what we observe inside the agreed scope, and estimated benefits are opportunities to test rather than guaranteed savings. Where a recommendation could lead to 360 earning from supply, we say so in the report so you can compare it against the market. Full terms are on the purchase terms page.
Not sure this is the right one? The operations health check takes ten minutes, costs nothing and tells you where to look first.
Questions
You also sell pallets. Is that a conflict?
It is, and we disclose it in the report wherever a recommendation could lead to 360 earning from supply. You are always free to implement internally or with your existing providers. See what 360 supplies and collects.
What is usually found?
Pallets bought new where a reusable grade would do, pallets going out and not coming back, pooled pallets accruing hire on the wrong account, waste collected by volume when it could be sorted and sold, and consumables ordered by habit. Small per unit and large in total.
Can you review just the pallets?
Yes. Pallet purchases, returns and pool hire for twelve months is a normal scope on its own, and the pickup rule and the price pages on this site already answer the smaller cases without a review.
What if our waste contractor has a contract?
The review reads it. Most waste contracts price by bin lift or by volume, and the saving sits in what goes in the bin, which the contract rarely controls. Timber, cardboard and film sorted out of general waste change the bill without changing the contractor.
Do you travel outside Sydney?
Site days run in person. Travel is included for Greater Sydney, the Illawarra, the Central Coast and Newcastle; anywhere else in Australia or New Zealand the travel is quoted at cost before you commit, and the desk work is done remotely either way.
