Quick answer
What is perfect order mapping?
Perfect order mapping follows the order path end to end, from the moment a customer places it to the moment the cash lands, with every handover between people and systems identified, because that is where orders fail. You get a current state map the whole business recognises, failure points ranked by frequency and cost, and the controls to put in, in the order that fixes the most for the least. Scoped by how many systems the order passes through and how many people touch it, not by the size of the business.

Perfect order mapping
Orders go wrong and every department can show it was not them.
What does the work involve?
- The order path mapped end to end, from the moment a customer places it to the moment the cash lands.
- Every handover between people and systems identified, because that is where orders fail.
- The controls that exist, the controls that are assumed to exist, and the gap.
What do you get?
- A current state map the whole business recognises.
- Failure points ranked by frequency and cost.
- The controls to put in, in the order that fixes the most for the least.
Who does it suit?
Businesses where order accuracy, credits or rework are climbing and no single function can fix it alone.
Who is it not for?
A single-system business with one person running orders end to end; a process map of your own will find what this review would.
How long does it take?
Measured in weeks, not months, because it starts from your order data; the proposal fixes the dates.
What do we need from you?
Missing some of this is normal and is not a reason to wait. Send what exists and we will tell you what the work can and cannot conclude before anyone commits.
- A walk through the order path with the people at each step.
- Order, credit and rework data for a recent period.
- Access to the systems the order moves through, read only is fine.
What does it cost?
Scoped project. The scope is driven by how many systems the order passes through and how many people touch it, not by the size of the business.
How does 360 work?
A consultant delivers the work and is accountable for the content. Findings come from the data you supply and what we observe inside the agreed scope, and estimated benefits are opportunities to test rather than guaranteed savings. Where a recommendation could lead to 360 earning from supply, we say so in the report so you can compare it against the market. Full terms are on the purchase terms page.
Not sure this is the right one? The operations health check takes ten minutes, costs nothing and tells you where to look first.
Questions
How is this different to a process map?
A process map shows the steps. This shows where the order actually breaks and what it costs you.
What is a perfect order?
The right product, in the right quantity, on the promised date, undamaged, with the paperwork and the invoice correct, measured as one yes or no per order. Most businesses measure each piece separately and each piece looks fine; the combined figure is the one the customer feels.
Who needs to be in the room?
One person from each step the order passes through: sales or customer service, planning, the warehouse, despatch, transport and accounts. The walk takes a few hours and is done with the people who do the work, not their managers.
Does this need system access?
Read only access to the systems the order moves through, so the handovers can be seen rather than described. Nothing is changed and no data leaves the business.
What do we get at the end?
A map of the order path as it actually runs, the failure points with how often each one fires and what it costs in credits and rework, and the fixes in order of value with an owner against each.
