Operations consultancy / Storage review and solutions

Storage review and solutions

You are running out of space and the obvious answer is a bigger building.

What does the work involve?

  • Capacity and utilisation measured properly, by location type, not by eye.
  • Slotting and stock profile reviewed, because most space problems are slotting problems.
  • Overflow and third party logistics options compared commercially where the data supports it.

What do you get?

  • What capacity you actually have against what you are using.
  • The space available without moving, and what it costs to release.
  • A commercial comparison if external storage is the answer after all.

Who does it suit?

Operations about to lease more space, or carrying overflow costs that have quietly become permanent.

Who is it not for?

A site already at good density with no overflow bill; the review earns its fee by releasing space you are paying for.

How long does it take?

Measurement in the first week, the slotting and release plan inside the second.

What do we need from you?

Missing some of this is normal and is not a reason to wait. Send what exists and we will tell you what the work can and cannot conclude before anyone commits.

  • Current location and capacity data from your system.
  • Stock on hand by velocity, and what is slow or dead.
  • What you are currently paying for any overflow or external storage.

What does it cost?

Scoped project. Usually smaller than a layout review, because it starts with measurement rather than design.

How does 360 work?

A consultant delivers the work and is accountable for the content. Findings come from the data you supply and what we observe inside the agreed scope, and estimated benefits are opportunities to test rather than guaranteed savings. Where a recommendation could lead to 360 earning from supply, we say so in the report so you can compare it against the market. Full terms are on the purchase terms page.

Questions

How much space can a slotting change release?

It varies, and we will not guess before measuring. It is routinely enough to defer a lease decision by a year or more.

Is the answer always slotting?

No. Slotting is the first thing measured because it is cheap to change. The review also looks at dead and slow stock, the pallet heights against the beam levels, the overflow and external storage bill, and whether a different storage type releases space without a lease.

How do you know the space will be released?

The current location and capacity data gives the occupied positions and the stock by velocity gives what belongs where. The released positions are counted before anything moves, and the overflow bill is the figure the review is measured against.

Do you travel outside Sydney?

Site days run in person. Travel is included for Greater Sydney, the Illawarra, the Central Coast and Newcastle; anywhere else in Australia or New Zealand the travel is quoted at cost before you commit, and the desk work is done remotely either way.

What happens after the report?

The report lists the findings in order of money, what each fix needs and who owns it. You can run the actions yourself, bring us back for the ones you want help with, or put the list on the monthly ongoing support cadence so it does not drift.
