Quick answer

What does a route optimisation review deliver?

Route optimisation starts with the current routes mapped against what they actually do, not what the plan says, then feasible alternatives modelled under your real constraints: depot location, vehicle types, delivery windows and service levels. You get a route set you can implement, the saving quantified per week and per year, and what changes for drivers and customers. Fixed price $6,900 plus GST; it suits any fleet running more than about six vehicles on repeating runs, especially after a depot move or a big customer win or loss.

Route optimisation

The runs were planned years ago and nobody has rebuilt them since the customer base changed.

What does the work involve?

  • Current routes mapped against what they actually do, not what the plan says.
  • Feasible alternatives modelled under your real constraints: depot location, vehicle types, delivery windows, service times, driver hours.
  • The options compared on cost, kilometres, vehicles required and service risk.

What do you get?

  • A recommended route set you can implement, not a theoretical optimum.
  • The saving quantified per week and per year.
  • What changes for drivers and customers, and what to tell them.

Who does it suit?

Any fleet running more than about six vehicles on repeating runs, especially after a depot move or a big customer win or loss.

Who is it not for?

A fleet under about six vehicles, or a one-off run; there the answer is a priced truck for the job, not a review.

How long does it take?

Two to four weeks from the data arriving to the written plan, most of it spent on your run sheets rather than on site.

What do we need from you?

Missing some of this is normal and is not a reason to wait. Send what exists and we will tell you what the work can and cannot conclude before anyone commits.

  • Twelve months of delivery history with addresses, dates and drop sizes.
  • Your vehicle list, delivery windows and depot locations.
  • Driver start times and any service time you already measure.

What does it cost?

$6,900 plus GST as a fixed price review. Network redesign, where the depot or the service model itself is in question, is scoped separately.

How does 360 work?

A consultant delivers the work and is accountable for the content. Findings come from the data you supply and what we observe inside the agreed scope, and estimated benefits are opportunities to test rather than guaranteed savings. Where a recommendation could lead to 360 earning from supply, we say so in the report so you can compare it against the market. Full terms are on the purchase terms page.

Questions

Will the answer just be fewer trucks?

Sometimes, and sometimes it is the same trucks doing more. The constraint is usually windows and service time, not distance.

Do we need routing software first?

No. The review tells you whether software would pay before you buy any.

Our delivery history is in the transport system and in spreadsheets. Is that enough?

Yes. Twelve months of drops with the address, the date and the drop size is the minimum, and it can come as an export from whatever you run. Gaps are stated in the report rather than filled with guesses.

Will the drivers accept new runs?

They will if the runs are built on the real service times and the real windows, which is why their start times and the measured time at the door go into the model. The review sits with the drivers before the runs change, not after.

Can you look at one depot only?

Yes. One depot with its runs is a normal scope. Where the question is whether the depot itself is in the right place, that is a network redesign and is scoped separately, as the cost line on this page says.

All sixteen consultancy services.

On site across Australia, with the deepest coverage in Sydney and Melbourne. Travel outside those areas is quoted as its own line rather than folded into the fee.
