Quick answer
Which truck carries how many pallets?
The 360 fleet runs from a ute with one pallet position to a B-double with 34: thirteen vehicle classes with deck size and payload in the table on this page. On the small trucks the weight runs out before the floor, a 2 tonne truck carries 1,900 kg, which is 475 kg a pallet. Pick by the dock as much as the load: a six pallet truck with a tailgate suits most retail docks, and a ten pallet rigid needs a dock or a forklift at both ends.

Which truck carries how many pallets?
Pallet positions are standard 1165 by 1165 Australian pallets on the floor, not double stacked. Payload is what the vehicle can carry, not what it weighs. Open any vehicle for the full dimensions.

How do I pick the right truck?
Most people pick by the truck they have seen before. Pick by the freight instead, in this order.
Count the pallet positions first. Positions are floor space, so fourteen pallets will not go on a twelve position rigid no matter how light they are. If your freight stacks safely and your receiver can handle a double stacked pallet, say so when you quote and the position count can halve.
Then check the payload. Positions and weight run out at different points. Sixteen pallets of paper will be over a heavy rigid long before the floor fills, and sixteen pallets of empty cartons will fill the floor at a quarter of the payload. Whichever runs out first picks the vehicle.
Then check the site. A semi trailer needs room to turn and a dock or a forklift. If the receiver is a shop, a residential street or a site with no forklift, the vehicle needs a tail lift and a hand pallet jack, which rules out most of the larger sizes. Tell us about the access and the quote reflects it instead of the driver finding out.
Last, check the network. A B-double is the cheapest way to move a pallet on a long lane, and it can only run on approved routes. If either end is off the B-double network the freight moves on a semi trailer, or it runs B-double between the two nearest approved points with a smaller vehicle on each end.
Two sizes often come out close. Quote both. The engine prices every vehicle that fits the freight at the same time, so the comparison costs nothing.
