Shared freight, one lane
Two pallets from Sydney to Brisbane: what it costs and how it goes.
Two standard pallets, ambient, under 1.4 metres high, go as shared freight on a vehicle already running the lane: $110.50 a pallet on the published Sydney to Brisbane rate, plus the $45 consignment charge and the 22 per cent fuel levy, is $324.52 ex GST delivered, $162.26 a pallet. Transit is 2 to 3 business days. Say whether each end has a forklift and the quote tool prices it in minutes.

Quick answer
What do two pallets Sydney to Brisbane cost?
Two pallets from Sydney to Brisbane cost $324.52 ex GST delivered on the published shared-freight rate: $110.50 a pallet for a two to three pallet consignment, plus the $45 consignment charge, plus the 22 per cent fuel levy, which is $162.26 a pallet dock to dock. Transit is 2 to 3 business days. Sending them as one booking rather than two saves $102.48, because the consignment charge is paid once. Say whether each end has a forklift; a tail lift is priced on the quote before you book.
The sum
What do two pallets Sydney to Brisbane cost?
The published rate card for the lane steps down as the consignment grows, and one consignment charge and the fuel levy sit on top. Worked at one, two and three pallets, ex GST, dock to dock (freight is the pallet rate plus the $45 consignment charge):
| Pallets | Freight | Fuel levy 22% | Delivered |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | $175.00 | $38.50 | $213.50 ($213.50 a pallet) |
| 2 | $266.00 | $58.52 | $324.52 ($162.26 a pallet) |
| 3 | $376.50 | $82.83 | $459.33 ($153.11 a pallet) |
The second pallet costs $111.02 more than the first, because the consignment charge is paid once. That is the whole argument for sending two pallets as one booking rather than two, and for holding an order a day to go with the next one. A tail lift, a hand unload or a residential address are priced as their own lines on the quote before you book, never added after the driver arrives.
How it moves
How does shared freight to Brisbane work?
Shared freight puts your two pallets on a vehicle already running Sydney to Brisbane with other customers' freight, so you pay for two positions rather than a truck. The pickup is booked around your despatch hours, the freight goes up the Pacific overnight or through a depot, and the delivery lands in a 7am to 3pm weekday window at the receiving dock. Transit is 2 to 3 business days from pickup, confirmed on the quote. A proof of delivery with the receiver's name, the time and the count is emailed after the drop.
What travels this way: ambient freight on a standard 1165 by 1165 pallet, up to 1.4 metres high and inside the pallet's edge, wrapped so the load and the pallet move as one. Chilled, dangerous goods, over-height or over-hanging loads do not go on a shared run; they go on a dedicated vehicle quoted personally.
Before you book
What do you need to tell us?
- The two suburbs. Pickup and delivery; the lane covers Sydney metro, south-west and west to Brisbane metro and the Gold Coast corridor.
- The count, the weight and the height. Two pallets, the kilograms each, and whether they sit under 1.4 metres.
- A forklift at each end, or not. No forklift means a tail lift and a pallet jack to the nearest flat, hard ground; it is priced up front.
- Receiving hours and any booking reference. A distribution centre that books vehicles needs its reference on the consignment.
- What is on the pallet. Ambient goods go shared; anything chilled, dangerous or fragile is quoted on its own vehicle.
The other way
When does a dedicated truck beat shared freight?
Past about eight pallets the per-pallet rate on a dedicated vehicle starts to win, and anything timed to the hour, chilled, dangerous or awkward goes direct regardless of the count. A dedicated vehicle runs the 920 km overnight with the date set when you book, and a return load from Queensland brings its price down. The quote tool shows both prices side by side, so the comparison is made on your load, not on a rule of thumb.
Regular freight on this lane, the same two or three pallets every week, is priced as a committed lane rather than trip by trip; say the frequency on the quote and the rate reflects it.

Questions about two pallets to Brisbane
How much is it to send two pallets from Sydney to Brisbane?
On the published lane rate, $324.52 ex GST delivered: two pallets at $110.50, plus the $45 consignment charge, plus the 22 per cent fuel levy. That is $162.26 a pallet, dock to dock, for standard pallets under 1.4 metres high.
How long do two pallets take from Sydney to Brisbane?
Two to three business days on shared freight from the pickup day, confirmed on the quote. A dedicated vehicle runs the 920 km overnight with the delivery date set when you book.
Is it cheaper to send two pallets together or one at a time?
Together. The consignment charge is paid once per booking, so the second pallet costs $111.02 more than the first rather than another $213.50. Two separate bookings would cost $427.00 against $324.52.
Do you need a forklift at the delivery end?
Not if you say so when you quote. Without a forklift the delivery goes on a tail-lift vehicle and the driver jacks the pallets to the nearest flat, hard ground; the tail lift is priced on the quote before you book.
Can two pallets go to the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast instead of Brisbane?
Yes, on the same lane with the extra leg shown as its own line on the quote. Put the delivery suburb in and the tool prices it; regional Queensland beyond the coast is quoted personally.
