Buying notes

What should I check before ordering Australian standard pallets?

  • Racking needs the 2 tonne hardwood version; the 1 tonne softwood pallet is for floor stacking and lighter loads
  • Recycled grade B is the value choice for general warehousing; ask for grade A where the pallet is customer facing
  • Export shipments need the heat treated version with the ISPM 15 mark, specified at the time of order
  • Count the top boards on a sample before a large order: a 7 board top deck carries product with small feet better than a 5 board deck

Price it

Tell us the load, how many, and whether they are going in racking.

Ask before 2pm on a business day and the price comes back the same day. After 2pm it goes out first thing the next business day.

Questions about australian standard pallets

What is a standard Australian pallet?

A 1165 x 1165 mm timber pallet, 150 mm high, with 4 way entry on bearers. It is the size CHEP and Loscam pool, which is why racking, dock levellers and trucks in Australia are built around it. 360 supplies the same footprint as a pallet you own outright.

What does a 1165 pallet weigh?

A softwood 1 tonne pallet is around 20 to 25 kg and a hardwood 2 tonne pallet around 35 to 45 kg, depending on timber and moisture. Ask for the weight in the quote if your dock or your freight rate depends on it.

New or used?

Grade B used for most warehousing and distribution, new for clean environments, export and anything a customer will see. Ask for both and we price both.

How many standard pallets fit on a truck?

Two across on a 2.45 metre deck: 12 on a 12 pallet rigid, 22 on a semi-trailer and 34 on a B-double, standard 1165 by 1165 pallets on the floor and not double stacked. The pallets-per-truck page lists every vehicle we run.

Can you take our old pallets away when you deliver?

Yes, when it is the same truck. Sixty or more reusable standard pallets anywhere in Greater Sydney is a free pickup and you are paid for the stock; under sixty the stack rides back on a delivery we are already making to your site, or is quoted as a clearance first. Outside Greater Sydney the pickup is priced in the written offer.
