What we need to price a truck
- Pickup suburb and delivery suburb (a postcode is enough).
- How many pallets, and the height of the tallest one; anything over 1.4 m or wider than 1165 mm changes the vehicle.
- Rough total weight, so the vehicle is picked by payload as well as floor space.
- Forklift at both ends, or a tailgate and a pallet jack at one of them. A hand unload is priced up front, not on the invoice.
- The day, and any dock window or gate hours at either end.
Shared freight takes one to six pallets on a truck already going that way, ambient only, next business day or later; a dedicated vehicle is yours for the job. A price asked for before 2pm is confirmed the same business day. Not sure which truck? How many pallets fit on each truck.
What the price includes
What a 360 transport quote covers, and what sits beside it
- The vehicle and the driver for the job, priced from the rate book, ex GST first with the GST shown on the quote.
- Tolls at cost, as their own line, not folded into the rate.
- The fuel levy, shown separately so you can see what moves with diesel and what does not. On the published shared lanes it is 22 per cent on the freight and consignment charge.
- A tail lift, a hand unload or a residential delivery, priced on the quote before you book rather than added after the driver arrives.
- The pickup day and the delivery window, confirmed on the booking before anything moves. Nothing is charged until the driver is confirmed.
- Payment terms written on the quote. A new customer confirms payment with us before pickup; account customers are invoiced on their agreed terms. Nothing is charged until the driver is confirmed.
- Tracking, proof of delivery and the invoice in your account, with the job sheet the driver worked from.
Dangerous goods, oversize loads and refrigerated freight are priced personally. Each vehicle class has its own page with the deck drawn and the payload beside it: every vehicle we run.
Three lanes, worked
What the quote looks like on three common jobs
| Job | What goes in | What comes back |
|---|---|---|
| Prestons to Dandenong, 2 pallets, 1.2 m high, 900 kg | Two postcodes, the count, the height, the weight, forklift at both ends | A shared freight price (the pallets ride on a trailer already heading down the Hume, 2 to 3 business days) beside the dedicated vehicle price, with the fuel levy as its own line |
| Wetherill Park to Beresfield, 8 pallets, no forklift at delivery | The count, the weight and the access: no forklift means a tailgate truck and a pallet jack | A dedicated run priced by the vehicle that fits (a tailgate truck, eight positions), next business day for most Sydney metro pickups, the tailgate shown as its own line |
| Moorebank to Eastern Creek, 4 pallets, delivery window 10am to 2pm | Two suburbs, the count, the window, the dock details | A metro run on a vehicle that fits the dock, sequenced to the window, with proof of delivery on the drop |
The published lane rates are on the lane pages; the tool prices your exact load, and the booking confirms the pickup day and the delivery window. How pallet delivery is priced explains the three parts of every quote.
